I am always on the search for a way to prevent electrical shock and fire. I have heard of “electric shock” tape, but I am hoping I am not just saying that because I am not using it on my own home, but rather in an apartment or rental. I am not sure why this would be a bad thing.
There have been a couple of fires where the fire department was called to the scene but the fire was already out anyway. When I read that, I was thinking, “Huh, that doesn’t seem like a big deal.” But after the fire department came, they found that the building was built on a hill and someone had used a lot of electrical tape to seal off the gaps that allowed electricity to reach the building.
The whole thing is a bad idea in my opinion. It is extremely hard to get good electrical tape, and it is a very bad idea to place the building on a hill when it could easily be on a flat piece of land. You see, if you put the building on a hill, it will put more stress on the electrical system than if you put it on a flat piece of land.
I’m not sure that I’d call it a bad idea, but I do think that it is pretty bad.
You could always use a temporary wall instead.
The other alternative is to use caution tape and be very careful when placing things on the building. Like a fence or something. But that is the exception, not the rule.
The problem with caution tape is that it’s a bit of a kludge. It has to be applied every 2-3 feet to stay level. The trick is to use caution tape that has both a “dry” and a “wet” side that slides easily over the surface it’s meant to cover.
It’s not that I hate caution tape, it’s that I don’t like it used outside of a house. If we are going to be playing around with danger, we don’t want to be playing indoors. The old trick of using caution tape on the roof was a good idea for a long time. I remember being on the roof of my house with the windows open. In the middle of the night the cops came. I used caution tape to cover the window.
The same goes for the danger you’re in. You may not want to be playing around with the danger outside, but it’s not a bad idea to cover up a small part of your house that you dont want people to see.
